The production center Neformat and the music group t.A.T.u. have decided to film a full-length animated cartoon in the new-anime style (mange, hard-and-fast Japanese animation where the characters have large eyes). Work on the screenplay will take place in Moscow until the beginning of October, and the cartoon will be drawn by one of the leading Japanese companies according to this information.

There will also be shooting of video fragments and inserts in Moscow, which will fill out and give variation to the anime created in Japan. Because of the combination of formats - animation and video - it's impossible to tell exactly what the genre the film will be. Yulia and Lena will appear on screen both as they do in real life and in a completely unexpected way. The animated motion picture will be released for rent in June 2004. The first people to see it will be those in Russia and Japan. For fragments of the screenplay, details and drawn sketches will be on our site a little later. The song "Not Gonna Get Us" has already been used in one Japanese movie.

t.A.T.u.’s popularity in Japan is so intense and widespread that the Japanese are ready to push the images and the voices of Yulia and Lena anywhere they can be bought. This spring, a "new-fashioned" film appeared in Japan with mostly amusing cross-eyed gangsters, rock stars, bloody shooting scenes, murderers, and drugs. In one scene, the police-heroine goes into a penthouse showing fashion. At that moment we suddenly hear the voice of Yulia Volkova - singing softly hard-core - a part of the track "Nas Ne Dogonyat" in English to which young Japanese women walk about in wedding dresses for two minutes absolutely unfitting the scene. It's very funny. We're not even going to mention the name of the film because it doesn't matter.
