Tatu Told To Keep It Clean! (ITV.Com - UK)

Time of publication: 01.05.2003
Russian pop duo Tatu have been told to keep their act clean when they make their only public appearance in Britain next week.

The girls will be performing at a promotional visit in an HMV store on London's Oxford Street.

HMV bosses are to tell their managers that the singers must be aware of their family audience.

The Russian pair - who claim to be lesbian lovers - cancelled their British arena shows yesterday.

Promoters of the axed Wembley Arena and Manchester MEN Arena shows had been concerned they had been given no reassurances about the nature of Tatu's show.

HMV is insisting the girls' appearance should be acceptable for young fans who might attend with parents.

A spokesman for the retailer said: "We are concerned to ensure that no offence is caused so we are asking the girls, through their management, to tone down their behaviour while performing on stage and not to perform any simulated acts as part of their routine."

Up to one-thousand people are expected to visit the store for the appearance on Tuesday.
