"All the things she said, all the things she said/Running through my head, running through my head…" Oh, the wisdom of youth: Russian, may-be lesbian, musical youth at that. T.A.T.U. are a couple of cute teenage girls who are superstars at home and are now, via their ABBA-esque single "All The Things She Said", making a splash in North America. This week, their debut album, 200 km/hr In The Wrong Lane (phew! that’s quite a mouthful), gets its North American debut. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.

If T.A.T.U.’s sugary dance beats don’t make you wanna smooch the girl next door, perhaps Kelly Osbourne’s Shut Up will bring out the girl power in you. While the junior Osbourne’s televised debut of "Papa Don’t Preach" was less than auspicious, Shut Up is a rocker in the same vein as The Donnas. Plus, she looks great on the cover.

Now, just supposing you don’t like Europop or bratty girl rock (and I can’t really understand if you don’t), everyone’s favourite Canadian hippie chick, Alanis Morissette, presents Feast On Scraps, a CD/DVD collection of songs recorded during the Under Rug Swept sessions. The CD also acts as a key to unlock a special, secret website, so this is a pretty hot item for Morissette fans.

Another pre-Christmas treat is the fifth in Bob Dylan’s bootleg series. This one is the Rolling Thunder review recorded during Dylan’s ’75 tour. There’s a huge range of material here, including "A Hard Rain’s A-gonna Fall", "It Ain’t Me Babe" and "Oh, Sister." There’s a sweet 52-page booklet included, and it’s worth the price just for the stunning version of "Hurricane."

Finally, if there are any jam band lovers on your Christmas list, your gift-giving woes are over! Trey Anastasio and the gang end their release-heavy 2002 (they put out about a bazillion live albums earlier this year) with Round Room. This new studio album is getting a decent amount of television promotion (Letterman, SNL), so you can catch this Phish on the small screen and in your stereo, you lucky Phish-head, you.
