Christina Removes Tatu From The Top! (ITV)

Time of publication: 03.03.2003
Tatu's four-week reign at the top of the singles chart has been ended by Christina Aguilera's new song, Beautiful.

The American star, who recently unveiled a raunchy new image, topped the charts for the second time in three months with the gentle ballad Beautiful, the latest release from her million-selling album Stripped.

And Spanish DJ and producer DJ Sammy entered the chart at number two with his re-dub of Don Henley's 1980s classic The Boys of Summer, a current dance favourite.

Russian duo Tatu - their name means This Girl Loves That Girl - slipped down to number three with All the Things She Said. The song's controversial video features schoolgirl outfits and a lesbian kiss.

Also new this week was Danish duo Junior Senior who entered at number four with Move Your Feet.

Keep Me A Secret from Ainslie Henderson, who found success on the BBC television programme Fame Academy, debuted at number five, while former Spice Girl Melanie C - aka Sporty Spice - jumped in at number seven with Here it Comes Again.

In the album charts, the acclaimed album of singer-songwriter Norah Jones finally hit the top spot on the back of the US singer's Brit and Grammy success last month.

Almost a year to the day after its release, Come Away With Me passed the million sales mark to top an astounding fortnight for the daughter of world-renowned sitar player Ravi Shankar.

Jones won eight Grammys last weekend, causing sales to shoot up over 300 per cent compared with the week before.

Come Away With Me, a blend of country, jazz and blues, has hovered around the UK top 10 for many months - without going higher than number three.
