Deeply Dippy -- Tatu to 'wed' underwater ("Daily Star" - UK)Time of publication: 10.03.2003 |

Tatu are to 'get spliced' in a bizarre underwater marriage ceremony - if the girls don't kill each other first.
The band's shady manager Ivan Shapovalov is, of course, behind this new stunt, designed to send the band flying up the charts again.
Crazy
He wants to take teenage pop sensations Lena Katina and Yulia Volkova to Holland, where gay weddings are legally recognised and wind the hype machine back up.
And, here's the really mad stuff, it's set to be an underwater ceremony at the bottom of a swimming pool--talk about chucking them in at the deep end. Lena said: 'We feel that we are a single whole, therefore we wanted to connect our destinies.'
But I can reveal behind the scenes, both girls fight like cat and dog and the only person who wants them to wed is their manager.
A source close to the band revealed: 'It sounds like a crazy idea, but there has been some serious talk about doing this.'
'It is possible to get married underwater in scuba gear and they even have underwater champagne.'
'But Lena and Yulia will never agree to it and I think this time Ivan may have pushed them too far. They fight all the time anyway and they are not even lovers, they just do what Ivan tells them to.'
Remember, Russian music svengali Ivan's already admitted he ruthlessly marketed the girls using the idea of underage sex to sell records.
Crazy
The 18-year-olds stormed to the top of the charts with All The Things She Said on the back of their supposed lesbian love affair.
But after being spotted with numerous fellas-- not to mention Ivan's admissions that he's behind their saucy stage shows --their gay credentials have taken a fair old battering.
Now, with new single 30 Seconds to promote, Ivan's desperate to shock us all again.
