Tatu Looking to Win Eurovision (ITV.Com)

Time of publication: 20.03.2003
Russia has unveiled a secret weapon for the Eurovision Song Contest - cheeky popstars Tatu are promising to shock the judges and bring the title home for the first time.

Tatu - Julia Volkova and Lena Katina - will perform a new track Ne Ver, Ne Bojsia which translates as No Faith, No Belief.

Lena said: "We wanted to do this because we are Russians body and soul. We want to blast everything that's gone before with our sexy act."

Julia added: "No one should be scared of us but we're going to win Eurovision."

The girls have already sparked controversy with more than two months to go before the contest by calling the German entry "a crusty old hag."

Referring to Lou, the 39-year-old contestant from Germany, Lena said: "She looks like she has worn out more men in her life than we have vodka bottles. We would push her straight off the edge of the bed.

"In Russia we look after the blind and the elderly but we don't send them to Eurovision like the Germans."
