Organizers for Saturday's televised Eurovision song contest say they'll use backup footage if controversial Russian pop duo Tatu performs a lesbian publicity stunt on stage.

The two singers, Lena Katina and Julia Volkova, have promised their performance will be "outrageous," according to Sky News.

Eurovision spokeswoman Solvita Vevere said: "We don't know what (Tatu) will do on stage -- you never know with this group. But we will have a taped performance from the dress rehearsal, so we can always switch to that if need be."

"There's a lot of hype and rumor surrounding Tatu," said Aline Ingwersen of the European Broadcasting Union, "but this is a family event, and we would not allow anything to jeopardize that."

The teen pop stars stirred controversy this year with a video for their hit single "All the Things She Said" that had them kissing passionately while wearing schoolgirl uniforms.

"All the Things She Said" has become a worldwide hit, and many entertainment writers believe Tatu -- also known as t.A.T.u. -- will win the competition, which takes place in Latvia this year. The pair will be representing Russia.

In its 47-year history, Eurovision has launched the careers of some performers, most notably Sweden's ABBA, who the 1974 contest with "Waterloo."

Last week, Tatu's manager was arrested for disturbing the peace in Moscow while trying to film a new video for the band in Red Square.
