English Band Makes Money on Tatu Time of publication: 13.02.2003 (21:01) |
Previous members of The Smiths made about 2 thousand pounds on the success of the Russian pop-duo Tatu. The thing is that Tatu recorded a cover version of The Smiths' song “How Soon Is Now?” on their debut album. Which is why the authors receive a percentage of the sales for author rights. Bearing in mind that Tatu’s album is selling millions of copies, the money is not small. Tatu are planning to release “How Soon Is Now?” towards the summer as their new British single.
