The popular Russian idol duo t.A.T.u., who were appearing on the TV Asahi music programme Music Station on Friday night disappeared in the middle of the programme. TV Asahi was overwhelmed with complaints and enquiries from viewers. The phones didn't stop ringing for about 3 hours, until they stopped taking calls.
According to TV Asahi, t.A.T.u. finished their rehearsal and appeared at the start of the live programme, which began at 19:54. However, soon after the beginning, the two girls and their manager said "We don't want to appear" and went home without singing the song they had planned to perform. The reason is said to be unclear.
