The Russian chaos-merchants Tatu have gone back home after spending 5 nights and 6 days "sightseeing" in Tokyo. At the duty free shops in Narita Airport, Yulia bought 3 or 4 kimono-style happi jackets (\4,000 each), while Lena bought the new Chanel fragrance "Chance" (\8,000). Replying to the question from the mass media "Do you like Japan?", they looked delighted as they said "Yes!" At the lightning press conference that they called to explain why they suddenly cancelled their appearance on Music Station, their producer, Ivan, blamed a lack of communication, with everything being translated from Russian to English to Japanese. However, when they went to a karaoke box (Big Echo) in Ginza that day, a Russian who was fluent in Japanese apparently went to the counter and said "We'd like to rent your biggest room."... When they were asked "Why did you go to karaoke?", Lena calmly replied "Because we wanted to. You sometimes suddenly want to eat something, don't you?" After the conference finished, she stood up and said "That's enough, isn't it?", as if to say that they'd been forced into holding the press conference.
One would have expected Tamori, who was hosting the programme from which they walked out, to be angry, but according to a programme insider, "Tamori was stunned; he was dumbfounded by their lack of professionalism. He was just concentrating on making sure the programme carried on. Those behind the scenes were running about like lunatics, though." They plan to come back to Japan in the autumn or winter to do a concert, and boasted that, "We have a million fans in Japan" but even though we Japanese are tolerant...

We caught Yulia leaving a restaurant in the hotel where they were staying. "They were smaller than I'd expected and were wearing sunglasses and hats, so I didn't realise they were Tatu at first" (sorry, can't make out who said that.) A look she liked so much, she wore it twice in one day.

Various things have been said about the etiquette of mobile phones in Japan, but what on earth was she thinking of, bringing a mobile to a press conference?! We don't know whose call she was waiting for, but we wonder whether she would have spoken to them had they phoned. In the end, she dozed off with her cheek resting against her hand.
Lena slowly raised her right leg and rested her foot on the chair with her shoes on! The room was in uproar at her lack of manners when she began scratching away at her foot.
She rushes into the room with both hands in her pockets. Those behind her may be Yulia's family (I think they mean Lena's). If you wanted to see her parents' faces, take a look! (I think in Japanese, people say of ill-mannered children that they'd "like to see their parents' faces")
