Inscription on Tatu's picture:
Italy: the video "AlI the things she said" is #1 in the day show TRL on MTV
Spain: Bon Jovi 's single is on the second place, Tatu 's on the first.
Europe has been taken up by a new twister called Tatu for two
weeks in September. The Russian girls started on their tour over the
Old World.
After all the floods and natural disasters this non-natural
phenomenon brought along a wave of energy and an avalanche of nice
sensations to the Europeans.
The 17-year old ladies Lena and Yulia have visited Italy, Spain,
Sweden, the Netherlands and Norway within the 14 days of the tour.
Neither the girls, nor their producer, nor even the record company
that had invited the band to Europe, have awaited such success.
It is still not clear when the girls had managed to obtain such
amount of fans. However the girls were welcome everywhere with
delight. Tatu had to give half a hundred interviews within two weeks, to
take part in a dozen of TV & radio programmes and photo sessions.
Journalists revealed genuine interest.
Just on the first day the single "All the things she said" ("I've
gone mad") appeared in the Italian music shops there was a real boom
on the local MTV channel. According to the number of votes given by
the audience Tatu's video was ranked first by the end of the show. The
success turned out to be so overwhelming, that Lena and Yulia were
invited to perform live on MTV-Italy. The shootings took place on one
of the central squares of Rome. Starting from the early morning the
crowds of fans have been moving towards the square. It comes as no
surprise: "All the things she said" was being played 24/7 on MTV and
the radio. There was an incident in Milan during an autograph session in
a music shop. An excited fan demanded that Lena and Yulia kissed her.
The girls refused cuttingly. Unfortunately, the signing of the
autographs had to be disturbed. Even a forced police posse failed to
hold the crowd of 500 people, each willing to talk to Russian stars.
An international music festival was being held in Italian Verona
and Tatu were invited to take part in it. When some manager found the
girls kissing each other in the dressing room, he asked them not to
show their feelings in public, otherwise there would be a scandal, he warned.
But have our girls ever been afraid of scandals? "Prohibited"
immediately called out quite the opposite response - "Action!". 'If we
kiss then we really kiss', our stars made up their mind. When they
performed this trick while singing, the audience yelled.
Lena and Yulia made a real fuss in Austria. It's even more
surprising because they still don't play Tatu's songs either on local TV
or on the radio. The girls hoped to enjoy peace. And could they really
have? Their popularity runs ahead of them. Within one day Lena and
Yulia gave 8 interviews to several papers, TV and radio.
Spain was in no lesser fever than emotional Italy. Lena and Yulia
made quite an unexpected discovery: there are so many gays and
lesbians in that country, that super hit A Gay Boy could become their
national anthem. That's why apparently Jon Bon Jovi had to yield his
honourable first place in selling records to the Russian girls.
The tour went on. This time it was Holland where there are
practically no restrictions for anything. The Dutch are like that: there
is no point in prohibiting to them.
It seems there is no way to impress the Europeans, especially the
most experienced Dutch. There is a way. as it turned out to be. Tatu
are so popular there, that Amsterdam's authorities started to panic
when the girls' hotel was "sieged" by the excited fans. In great secret
the girls were urgently taken to another luxury hotel "Grand" where
the world stars like Eminem or Limp Biscuit are regular guests.
We've heard quite a number of stories of how one can achieve
success. It's one thing when an artist is hunting fame, and it's another
thing when fame comes ahead of him.
"Na-na", Philip Kirkorov and many others have made promises
about tours in the West. But Moscow doesn't believe either tears or
words. We are skeptical people - we require facts. Can there be
anything more real than the first places in European music charts.
Search! But you are unlikely to find. That's exactly why we have chosen
Tatu to feature in the first issue of the Girls Generation magazine.
They say there is no prophet in his country. There is! It' s Tatu - that's
for sure!!!
