We feel comfortable with other stars…
Bravo: After all the publicity that was going on around you in Europe, I feel like I am having an interview with international stars. How do you feel at this stage?
Julia: Normal. Of course, when it all started, we were excited that the whole country would see us. But now, it's just good to know that we are the first Russian group that is known in Europe. We are going to USA at the start of December to promote our English album. Yes, we are very excited. But no more than that. We are happy in our hearts. All our emotions, they are inside.
Bravo: Are you being sly?
Julia: No.
Bravo: Now that you are famous, do you get all you want?
Lena: You know, for all our families, we are still Lena and Julia. We are not stars to them. Of course, they are happy for our success. But to let us have everything we want, they don't allow that.
Bravo: But they do give you some special treatment, now that you are famous?
Julia: Yeah, they allow us to have a lot of things, give us a lot of presents.
Lena: Let us hang out until 4 in the morning. (Laughs.)
Bravo: What impressions do you have of the West?
Lena: The EMA ceremony was unbelievably beautiful. Wonderful decorations, the stage, everything was aglow. Beautiful artists. To be honest, we reacted to them very calmly. We don't aim to collect autographs. Stars are stars. We feel like we are at home.
Bravo: The ceremony was so smooth that there was nothing you would want to correct?
Julia: No need. Every artist had their own show, their own decorations. And the impression of the artist changes when you see them face to face. On TV they all seem so beautiful, tall, with good figures, with no flaws. But in real life, it's a different story. For example, I never thought that Kylie Minogue was so short. I am 157 cm, Kylie was shorter than me, even on her high heels. When we gave her the award, she had to stand on a box, to give the speech.
Bravo: How was she?
Julia: How, how? Normal. A thick layer of make-up. Put it on anyone, and he'll be beautiful. Wash it away, and he's ugly. Did you see Aguilera without make-up? It's terrible. Who is Kylie Minogue? A star? She's fit to be my grandma.
Bravo: What about the men?
Julia: Eminem is cute. Even better then on TV. Also, Puff Daddy.
Bright, elegant Julia Volkova, with tousled black hair; and shy, warm Lena Katina. They are not just girls, but not yet women either. They sit opposite to me, in an expansive restaurant. Answering my question and mobile calls at the same time.

Bravo: Do you feel upset that you didn't get the award at the EMAs? That it was given to "Diskoteka Avariya"?
Lena: No, not at all.
Julia: We felt happy for them! Our position was higher then theirs anyway. We, like stars, gave awards to the stars at our level. Who are "Diskoteka Avariya"? Nobody knows them! So, let the boys be happy once in their lifetime, and see the real stars!
Bravo: Julia, you are 17, and Lena, you are 18. Do you feel independent? Do you limit your actions?
Julia: Yes, we are independent! We make our own decisions 100% of the time. Our parents can advise us and stuff, but no more than that.
Bravo: Do you live with your parents?
Julia: Yes, we do. For one, we don’t see them very often. Nowadays, teenagers want to live a separate life from their parents, but why? You'll always be able to do that. Our parents don’t limit us in anything, because they understand that we are independent, and because we earn our own money, making our own living, and theirs at the same time.
Bravo: Do you like erotica?
Julia: Yes. Porno, no. But erotic films, yes.
Bravo: Do you have any complexes with your bodies? You take off clothes so easily, showing your bodies...
Julia: Yes, we have complexes. I am shy about my height, I am so small and short!
Lena: I am on a diet all the time. Getting slimmer.
Bravo: Do you have social lives?
Lena: We just hang out where we want to.
Bravo: What was the last thing you read?
Julia: I don't like to read.
Lena: Ouch, I can't remember. Fitzgerald, I think.
Bravo: What do you think about romance?
Lena: Romance is a dream that everyone wishes would come true.
Julia: Something warm, kind, beautiful to the core, this is romance.
Bravo: What kind of young men are you attracted to?
Julia: I prefer the looks. Not body builders though, just tall, handsome men.
Lena: I judge by the character. I love men with education, brains, understanding.
Bravo: I personally don't like greedy men, what about you?
Lena: We don't like them either.
Bravo: What kind of movies do you like? Have you seen "War and Peace"?
Lena: Julia and I love Soviet movies. Those films are bright and cheerful, not like now: with murders, weapons and other rubbish.
Bravo: Are you afraid that maybe someday you’ll have to part, and you won't be able to?
Lena: I don't think that'll happen.
