Tatu Arrive in Japan, Enthusiastically Greeted by 200 Fans (Sponichi.Co.Jp)

Time of publication: 26.06.2003
The popular Russian high school girl duo Tatu landed at Narita Airport on the 25th, on Aeroflot flight 575.

Yulia (18) and Lena (18), who have been the focus of attention due to their first visit to Japan, landed in Japan at 10:06. They held hands and looked friendly as they turned to the concourse and smiled for the press corps, shouting "Good!" and "Hello!"

There was a deluge of about 200 fans in the arrivals lobby, including girls who had spent the night there. Fans who had gathered after seeing messages on the message board on the unofficial TATY*FAN site had tied bandanas around their left wrists as a way of recognising each other. A high-pitched yell went up when the two girls appeared. The duo responded to the fans' welcome, blowing kisses and waving.

With their original visit, planned for April, having been cancelled on doctor's orders, a high school girl (17) from Kanagawa Prefecture looked to be on the verge of tears as she said "I'm overwhelmed with emotion, because I was finally able to see them." On the 27th, they will appear on TV Asahi's Music Station programme and on the 28th they are planning a free live event in the capital. On the 29th they will film the video for their new song "Show Me Love", in which 300 Japanese fans will participate.
